Pratt Estate
The Project
This craftsman style beachfront home is situated just feet away from the surf at one of California's most beautiful beaches in Carpinteria. The "ground-up" construction was particularly challenging because of the many different shapes, angles and cantilevers incorporated into the design. This home allowed us to showcase our versatility and craftsmanship in every facet of its construction.
The foundation of this home consists of raised stem walls over concrete grade beams, which are tied into multiple 20-foot long pre-cast concrete pilings driven into the sandy soil. Our own in-house crews completed all of the complex framing and detailed finish work along with the foundation. We assisted the owners in selecting all of the exterior finish materials including doors, windows, siding, roofing materials, stone and paint finishes. Due to the rigors and challenges of being located so close to the ocean, we chose the materials not only for their aesthetic values but to insure their longevity as well as ease of maintenance.
